This part of the journey will open up for you a different Armenia, with unforgettable sceneries mixed with historical discoveries and very famous wine culture.

The group trip starts at 9:00, you will be picked up at your hotel/hostel.

Khor Virap is a Christian Armenian monastery located in Ararat valley, really close to Armenian-Turkish border. It has a very interesting story which you will hear during your trip.
From there you can witness one of the most beautiful views to Ararat Mountain that attracts millions of travelers every year.

We will be passing through a wine making village called Areni that is known for centuries of wine making. We will be stopping in the oldest wine-cellar, an isolated world located deep inside a natural mysterious cave. There you can find 6100 years old winery, which contains a wine press, fermentation vats, jars, and cups, pots and tandoor ovens. The world’s oldest shoe was found here too, and it is 5500 years old.

If you feel like tasting a real Areni wine, there is an option to pop into one of the wineries and have a tour inside the factory and/or have a tasting of different kinds of wine. The tour and tasting will cost you around $2 only!

The tour continues through an amazing picturesque gorge made by Amaghu River to Noravank Monastery that is 13th century Armenian Monastery. It is well known for being a three-story church which you can try climbing by narrow stone-made tiny staircase from outside of the building. All the surrounding is magic itself, red and yellowish cliffs all around, it gives you a feeling that instead of Armenia you actually landed on Mars.
